Six-time Bangladesh Premier League champions Bashundhara Kings have finally cleared all FIFA sanctions, allowing the club to enter the upcoming transfer window without legal restrictions.FIFA had imposed a total of 14 sanctions on the club. Eleven had already been resolved, while the remaining three were lifted on Friday night, according to FIFA’s website.The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has also extended the deadlines for club licensing and player registration ahead of the new season. Clubs now have until September 1 to complete licensing, while the deadline for player registration and transfers is September 3.The clearance means Bashundhara Kings can now complete both club licensing and player registration without any legal hurdles and build a full-strength squad for the 2026-27 season.Abahani Limited have also recently overcome their FIFA sanctions and strengthened their squad, signing four foreign players, including a former Nigeria World Cup player, while retaining Sheikh Morsalin, Al Amin and Mirajul Islam.Mohammedan Sporting Club are also active in the transfer market, setting the stage for a competitive battle among the country’s top clubs.However, Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club, relegated last season, still have one FIFA sanction in place. If they manage to have it lifted by September 1, the 2026-27 league could feature 13 teams.
